The Dreamer's Plight

Beloved...
You are the spark in my eyes
The truth amongst the lies
You are the redolence
Joie de vivre
You are beauty and bliss
Love’s gentlest kiss;
Oh the pain it brings…

If I am the lone sail-boat
Amidst the ocean that’s endless
You are the serene luna
Whose proximity beckons the tempest
If I am the moth
Attracted to the brightness
You are the flame
That’ll annihilate my existence

Let me know you as an idea
An illusion...
A dream that’ll disappear
A memory that’ll fade away…

Drift away, my Beloved
Drift away…

Before my sanity loses its way.

  1. SO MUCH OPEN FOR INTERPRETATION HERE!
A poetess expressing her burning passion for her muse.
    OR
such a great portrayal of another fact -
our dreams keep us moving forward with mental and physical enthusiasm, but Our proximity
to our dreams are defined by patience and humility.
We should not get swayed away from reality and we have to endure the bitter-sweet nature of the path to the dream.

Dreams can be the source of introspective solitude as well as despair.

The second verse portrays how the flaming yearning for the dream can often lead one to his/her doom.
which is why we have to accept the fact that our dream can, in fact
be a 'Dream', which can disappear with conflicting circumstances.

So, as much as the muse or the dream can create a new spiritual identity for a person
it can annihilate the spiritual and often physical existence that person had (SUICIDE VICTIMS)

I have to admit, I was awestruck at the line - "You are the serene Luna whose proximity beckons the tempest"
    Very creative.

    1. Thank you so much Nilotpal for your inspiring feedback :)... It's much valued. Often the biggest temptations in life can be the source of the most dreadful mayhem...
